| Monticello Fig Preserves. Jefferson enjoyed figs and successfully grew them at Monticello. This delicious, hard-to-find spread is made of figs, sugar, pectin and citric acid, with no preservatives. Try it on toast, biscuits or crackers, with ham or prosciutto, Brie, cheddar, mascarpone or Manchego cheese, with peanut or almond butter, and in vinaigrettes and sauces.
